Palantir Technologies CoFounder Joe Lonsdale landed himself in federal court Monday January 27 to answer a civil suit brought by a former employee and alleged ex-girlfriend. The suit, listed as docet number 4:15 CV 00382 Cloughtey V Lonsdale et al., alleges that "Mr. Lonsdale continuously and systematically subjected Ms. Clougherty to repeated and incessant sexual assaults and abuse" while Elise Cloughty worked as an intern at his venture capital firm Formation 8.

Formation 8 is backed in part by Lonsdale's personal fortune made at Palantir alongside Founder's Fund Mogul Peter Thiel. Palantir received start up funding from the CIA's owned venture capital firm In-Q-Tel. Together Formation 8 and Founders Fund provided significant capital to Tachyus, an oil and gas industry sensor integration firm. They also provided funding for the e-commerce platform Wish, the market intelligence firm Radius, the image processing firm Vicarious, the cloud based gaming firm Occulus VR, and Glow makers of a Bluetooth enabled fertility tracking app.

Lonsdale and Formation 8, which is also named in the suit, are represented by Kristen Dumont of Goodwin Proctor LLP. Dumont specializes in trade secrets litigation and employment law.
